Indoor team are well beaten (16/12/07)

The indoor team matched their skills against an experienced and hard hitting Eastbourne 'A' side. Batting first East bourne scored a challenging 186 for 7, the score reduced due to a few minus 6 roof hits.  There was a wicket each for Paddy Smith and Graham Baker, both smart stumpings by the much missed Jacob Miles, playing ihis first match of the season.  The other wickets were run outs down to some smart field from the brothers Smith, Ollie & Jacob.

The run chase got off to a bad start as Tim Hurst went for nought.  However, Jacob Miles (45 not out) hung in there and together with support from Graham Baker (35) they managed to make a match of it. Seaford finished on 135 for 7.

With four juniors in the side the run chase was always going to proof difficult.  However, a wayward Dean attack gifted a large quantity of extras.  These combined with a good 25 not out from James Wooldridge , 18 from Ollie Smith and good contributions from the other batters left Seaford needing a 6 off the last ball.  james Bentley held his nerve and the best Seaford could managed was to scramble 2 leg byes.

A cracking match!
